Privacy policy – Qompass
Effective from September 29, 2026
Controller
The controller of personal data is Info-Kan Jan Kania, registered at ul. Szosa Polska 13/1, 71-800 Szczecin, Poland, tax ID (NIP): 8511575823 (the “Controller”).
Contact: biuro@infokan.pl, phone +48 504 075 190, +48 796 797 799.
In short
Qompass works fully offline. The app has no internet permission, requires no account and contains no analytics, trackers or ads. The Controller receives no data from your phone.
Scan history and settings
The content of scanned codes, their format and scan time are stored only on your phone so we can show your history. The history is excluded from Google backups. You can delete single entries or the whole history (History screen or Settings), and uninstalling the app removes all of its data. Settings (language, appearance, vibration) are also stored only on your phone.
Scanning with the camera and from photos
Camera images are processed by Google's code scanner module (Google Play services). Qompass has no access to the camera – it receives only the decoded content of the code. According to Google, all image processing happens on the device and Google does not store the image or the scan result. When scanning from a photo, the app reads only the image you choose, on your phone, and does not store it. Google Play services are governed by Google's privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Code generator
QR codes are created on your phone. The data you enter (e.g. a Wi-Fi password) is not saved in the history. The code image is created temporarily, only for sharing, and deleted the next time you use the generator.
Opening links and sharing
A link is opened only after you confirm it, in the browser (Chrome Custom Tabs). From then on, the website you visit and the browser provider process data under their own terms. When you share code content, an image or a history export, the data goes to the app you choose.
Contacting the Controller
If you write to or call the Controller, we process the data from that correspondence (e.g. email address, message content) only to reply – based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) – for as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict and object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (in Poland: the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, UODO). For personal data matters, write to biuro@infokan.pl.
Changes to this policy
We will inform you about changes to this policy in the app. The current version is always available in Settings.
